Top 10 Security Tips
  1. To log in to Web Banking, use a popular search engine such as Google, use a bookmark you have already set, or type-in the address manually. Ensure the website begins with HTTPS and that the padlock next to the address states ‘HELLENIC BANK PUBLIC COMPANY LTD.
  2. When out and about, avoid using unsecured public Wi-Fi networks (e.g. coffee shops, hotels etc.).
  3. Never leave your computer unattended while logged in and protect access to your computer using a hard to guess password.
  4. We recommend that the "memorize password function" or "auto-complete" option in your Browser is disabled.
  5. Change your password as frequently as possible and not only when prompted automatically by the system. If you suspect that anyone else may have gained access to your password, then change it immediately.
  6. Don't open attachments in emails from unknown senders or click on links in emails or SMS when you are unsure of their origin.
  7. Always LOGOUT and close the window to prevent others from accessing your personal information by calling up the last page you visited.
  8. Update your computer with the latest Internet security software (e.g. antivirus) and install software as well as updates from trusted sources.
  9. Never reveal your security codes (e.g. password, digiPIN, PIN, and CVV) to anyone.
  10. Hellenic Bank will NEVER send you an SMS or email, containing links or files, and asking you to disclose or validate ANY of your personal information or credentials. Ignore and delete immediately "suspicious" e-mails, SMS or web sites that ask you to provide your personal data. Contact electronicbanking@hellenicbank.com so that we can take appropriate actions and delete them immediately.
